Scrapbooking and Card Making: Die Cuts & Rubber Stamps Now Coordinate in Latest Trend
Die cuts and rubber stamps have been around since the birth of scrapbooking and card making and both have had a huge impact on this particular industry. It has often been debated too which came first the diecut or the stamp. Well that is like asking which came first the chicken or the egg. Now this does not seem to matter anymore. What matters most is that finally they are working together to provide unlimited design capabilities. For the first time ever die-cutting companies are now coordinating their dies with rubber stamps from the stamping companies. And all a crafter can say is hallelujah! It has been a long time coming, but a new market has opened up or should we say a newly merged market has been created providing card makers and scrapbookers around the world with endless design possibilities. In this article we will take a deeper look at who's starting the trend and who's benefiting.
In the beginning it seemed that die cutting companies would try to release their own lines of rubber stamps and never could profit. The dies would sell and the stamps would sit there. The same was happening to stamping businesses too. They would attempt to release a die-cut with their stamp and it would fail. Well this has now changed. Both industries realizing to stick with what they do best, that is die-cut manufacturers making ONLY diecuts and stamping manufacturers making ONLY rubber stamps proved to be most profitable. It has now gone as far as some rubber stamp businesses are sending their stamp designs to die-cutting companies to manufacture exclusive dies for only them. Sort of a co-branding going on if you will. And crafters are not complaining. The phenomenon that is occurring is now scrapbook lovers or those that make cards and not only buying one rubber stamp but a coordinating die cut. Or visa versa. This is creating a 50% increase in revenue for this newly merged cross market.
In conclusion cross marketing is not new to the world, however as shown in this article that it continues to be effective. Especially for the scrapbooking world. As stated in the beginning of this post that die cuts and rubber stamps have been around for a long time, but the connection of marketing them together was yet to be done until now. It's the latest and greatest trend among those who scrapbook pages and do card making.
